Axis Q6032E with PTZ Control Queue enabled = authentication error

After enabling the PTZ Control Queue on an Axis Q6032E, we get an authentication required error when ever we try to use the PTZ functions from the blackberry.  Viewing the camera works as usual, just when we want to move the camera do we get the error.

Re: Axis Q6032E with PTZ Control Queue enabled = authentication error

just looking through their docs i found

5.3.6
PTZ control queue
If the PTZ control queuing mechanism is enabled for the camera concerned, control of PTZ units is limited to the client currently possessing the control, if any. This CGI request handles requests concerning the control queue. Note that cookies are enabled by default when enabling PTZ control queue.

we don't support cookies in the app at all.

also it looks like there are 2 commands for ptz control via queue which we don't support at this time.  there is a first request for camera in queue and then the sending of the actual command.  to top it off you have to constantly send query requests until there is an opening, then do the actual camera request, and finally send the actual command.

we do not support these steps at this time.

Re: Axis Q6032E with PTZ Control Queue enabled = authentication error

i am not sure if this will work but you could try.

1. add a new stream profile
2. in the custom urls section add the urls we use for ptz commands.  i only see 4 spaces for custom commands though so you have to choose which 4 commands for PTZ you want to use.

this is what we use for ptz commands in the app (just the urls below not the label on left side)

left       /axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?move=left
right      /axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?move=right
up         /axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?move=up
down       /axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?move=down
center     /axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?center=160,140
zoomtele   /axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?camera=4&rzoom=+1000
zoomwide   /axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?camera=4&rzoom=-1000

so for example in the first custom command field where it has http:// you would input
http:///axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?move=left
and label the box left or something.

we may have to test some stuff on our end once you do that but you can try it first and see.  if it doesn't work send remote access via Contact Us section of website and we will test and see.  this is the only way it might work for you in our app.

Yes.  We turned it on to give priority to Auto Tracking over the Guard Tour.  With it on, the camera will follow movement around the area.

For us right now, this is a "wish list" item on the blackberry.  Priority has been given to the tracking of movement.  We are looking at selling these cameras and your software is a bonus item.  The boss just loves the idea (until he is woken up that is!!) that he can get access via his phone.  He wants to use this as a selling point to the overall system.
